Part one-Details
1.關(guān)于“學(xué)習(xí)”
Juli Baker is the kind of annoying person who makes a point of letting you know she;s smart. Her hand is the first one up; her answers are usually complete dissertations; her projects are always turned in early and used as weapons against the rest of the class.
2. It’s his eyes. Somethings in his eyes. They’re blue, and framed in the blackness of his lashes, they’re dazzling. Absolutely breathtaking.
3.My heart stopped. It just stopped beating. And for the first time in my life, I had that feeling. You know, like the world is moving all around you, all beneath you, all inside you, and you’re floating. Floating in midair. And the only thing keeping you from drifting away is the other person’s eyes. They’re connected to your by some invisible physical force, and they hold you fast while the rest of the world swirls and twirls and falls completely away.
4.關(guān)于庭院亂
Visually challenged! This form the girl who lives in a house that’s the scourge of the neighborhood. They’ve got bushes growing over windows, weeds sticking out all over the place, and a barnyard’s worth of animals running wild.
5. The fact was, I’d never seen Juli cry before. Not when she’d broken her arm in P.E., not when she’d been teased at school or ditched by her brothers. Not even when they’d cut down the sycamore tree.
Part two-Extracts
1.Some of us get dipped in flat, some in satin, some in gloss. But every once in a while you find someone who’s iridescent, and when you do, nothing will ever compare.
2.Juli爸爸媽媽在Juli提出修正庭院后因?yàn)榈艿艿氖略贘uli面前吵架了。
That night my parents came into my room and talked to me, one at a time. My father talked about his brother and how much he loved him and how he’d promised his parents he’d always take care of him. My mother talked about how much she loved my father for his strength and kind heart, about dreams and reality, and the need to count your blessings. And she made me cry all over again when she kissed me goodnight and whispered that of all her many blessings, I was her best and brightest.
I felt sorry for my father. I felt sorry for my mother. But most of all I felt lucky for me that they were mine.
3.All those years I liked him?I really never him. All I knew was that he had the most beautiful eyes I’d ever seen and that his smile melted my heart like the sun melts butter. But now I know that inside he’s a coward and a sneak, so I’ve got to get over what he’s like on the out side.
4.People do change, you know. Maybe he’s had some revelations lately, too.And frankly, any boy who tries to kiss a girl in front of other kids does not sound like a coward to me. Maybe there’s more to Bryce Loski than you know.
5.“A painting is more than the sum of its parts,” he would tell me, and then go on to explain how the cow by itself is just a cow, and the meadow by itself is just grass and flowers, and the sun peeking through the tress is just a beam of light, but put them all together and you’ve got magic.
6.Maybe it’s time to meet him in the proper time.
7.Look underneath the surface
